DEPARTMENT OF MICROBIOLOGY GMC HANDWARA

Welcome to the Department Of Microbiology, GMC, handwara, Kashmir. Our department is home to multidisciplinary sections of microbiology. The Department of Microbiology caters to all clinical departments for diagnosis of emerging and re-emerging infectious diseases, study of antimicrobial resistance and investigations of infectious disease outbreak. We are particularly focused on teaching, diagnosis, research and community service. Our staff members are enthusiastic and work hard to instil an interest in the subject to the young generation. Our central mission is teaching of microbiology and immunology to the professional students in the school of medicine of GMC, handwara. The research in the department focuses on areas related Mycobacteriology, Microbiology, Infectious Diseases, Infection Control, Virology, Bacteriology, Mycology, Immunology, Antibiotic Policies and stewardship. Our faculty members are involved in various researches in different branches of clinical microbiology including Covid -19, TB, HIV etc.
